Photo Restoration and Retouching
is an art that takes years to master. Judy Howle, owner of Heritage Photos, is a photographer, tutor, and teacher for digital photography and photo editing in the Columbus area. She has displayed photos and photo art images at MUW, the Rosensweig Arts Center, and the Columbus Public Library. She has taught classes at MUW under the Continuing Education Department from 2002 - 2005, and currently teaches digital photography classes at the Rozensweig Arts Center. Let us breathe new life into what you may believe is a hopelessly damaged old photograph. All restoration and retouching work is done digitally using a computer. Your original photo is completely safe. Photo restoration involves a careful analysis of the image, a high quality scan of the original, and adjusting tone, contrast and color, if applicable, to create the best possible image. It involves painstaking work to remove dust and mold spots, stains, mend cracks and tears, and bring out details that were lost. We can also restore color to most faded, age-damaged photos so that they look like they did the day they were made. Annoying backgrounds can be "softened" to focus attention on the main subject, or removed altogether. Old black and white photos can be given a sepia-toned look to add another layer of antiquity to their appearance, or given a "hand colored" treatment that was popular with many old photos before the advent of color photography. We also offer facial retouching and image ehancing for scanned images or digital photos. We create custom photo slide shows, Power Point Presentations and offer other imaging services. Our prices page will give you some idea of how much you can expect to pay for restoring or retouching your images.
